Sam (Store And Move) Aids Extreme Makeover: Home Edition

WEST CHESTER, OH – A local SAM (Store and Move) dealer, Planes Companies, donated 10 SAM containers for a recent Extreme Makeover: Home Edition project. On July 10, crews loaded the SAM containers with supplies used to build the new home.

“The SAM containers were an ideal resource for this project and we were happy to donate them for such a great cause,” said Jeff Lobaugh, Director of SAM (Store and Move) at Planes Companies.

Along with the SAM containers, Planes crews donated their time, trucks, and moving supplies to pack, load, and deliver approximately 18,000 lbs. of the winning family’s belongings.

Greg and Ginger Akers, winners of the EMHE home, have a son Christian, 9, who suffers from Crohn’s Disease, and two daughters, Brooke, 7, and Faith, 3, who are wheelchair dependent due to Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Their previous home was not wheelchair accessible, making daily life extremely difficult for the family. The new home was constructed around the Akers children’s needs.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition welcomed the Akers to their new home on Thursday, July 17. The episode is set to air this fall on ABC, Sundays 8/7c.
