John Planes Receives United Van Lines’ Lifetime Achievement Award

WEST CHESTER, Ohio—John Planes, CEO of Planes Moving & Storage of Cincinnati, was recently named the recipient of the Gene Anderson/United Van Lines’ 2011 Excellence Award, which recognizes an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the relocation industry and the United agency system. The Award is named in honor of the late Gene Anderson of Texas, a long-time United Van Lines’ Board Member.

Planes’ selection was announced by Richard McClure, CEO of United Van Lines, at the van line’s recent Learning Conference held in Orlando, Fla. In revealing the recipient of this prestigious honor, McClure referred to Planes as “someone who never settles for anything less than the best, especially when it comes to serving his customers.”

Upon receiving the award Planes said, “This is a very humbling experience.”

As a top United Van Lines agent, Planes also earned the coveted Customer Choice Award at the Orlando conference. For the past 14 years, Planes has been listed in the Cincinnati Enquirer’s list of “Cincinnati’s Top 100 Privately Owned Companies.”
